Nakheel Properties is the developer behind some of the most structurally significant land reclamation projects in Dubai's history. The company, which has been operating since 2000, created Palm Jumeirah -- the artificial island that became one of the most recognised residential addresses in the UAE -- as well as the broader Dubai Islands archipelago and Palm Jebel Ali. These are not standard developments: Nakheel effectively invented the geography on which they sit. The company is now a subsidiary of Dubai Holding following a government restructuring, and continues to develop within these landmark locations.
